Warm ups

Let's get started,
So before I begin to with the songs I first need to find a suitable vocal warm-up and also trumpet warm-up to do to make sure I am probably warmed up before I begin.

So to find a warm up to use I went to YouTube where I found these great videos,

Vocal warm-up

This is a great video to use as it talks you through step by step each warm-up and what to do to improve and warm up your vocals but also what you should avoid to make sure you don't put strain on your vocals. The video caters for every singer from beginners straight through to professional making this video great for me as I am a beginner singer. As you have probably guessed this video starts of with a really easy scalic  movements this helps me to warm my vocals as it is warming up my vocal muscles and also helping with how I deliver my songs as this warm-up  helps you to reach a higher range and lower range in a way that doesn't strain your vocals which is great as the songs I have chosen to perform a really tackling voice progression and note range where at one point I have to hit a high D which is really tackling for me as I have a fairly low vocal range. This video will help me significantly when it comes to rehearsing and performing my pieces as it will help me to expand my vocal range and also make my voice sound crisper so my voice doesn't sound like it is straining when I hit those high notes. when it comes to my warm - ups this is the video I will be using I will slowly progress through the video when I feel more comfortable in singing.

Vocal warm -up

Trumpet warm-up
As I have been playing trumpet for 6 years I know a bit about what warm-up technique is best for me and I have found that to simply play one long, held notes is the easiest way of warming up for me however in this case this technique isn't the best technique to use as the piece I am rehearsing includes a lot of different trumpet techniques such as trills and also includes a range of high and low note in some cases hitting a high g which can be quite challenging and so for this I need to find a warm-up that will help improve my range and also help me to learn the best way to do a trill so that it sounds professional.
To find a warm-up that would be best to use I asked  a few trumpet players what they did to warm-up and the majority of the people I asked said that they play a variation of scales when they are warming up starting from a easy, c major scale and working there way up they said that this is a good warm-up technique to use as it helps with the breathing and also helps to expand your range meaning you can play higher notes easily without actually realising you are doing so.I took their advice on board and tried having ago myself below is a video showing me warming up and also having ago at the different warm-up techniques I have learned.

Okay so know I am warmed up let's move on to actually singing and playing each of my chosen songs.
